My Celebrant FAQs
As a celebrant there are some questions I get frequently asked, so I hope the following FAQs will help to answer some of your questions. Of course if there is anything else you would like to know, just get in touch with me for a chat.
Which areas do you work in?
I am based in Coulsdon and usually work in Surrey, Sussex, London and Kent. However I am happy to travel and also conduct destination weddings! Please contact me to find out more and I can give you a quote based on your location and requirements.
Is there a limit to how many drafts you will write?
No, you can have as many as is required to get your ceremony perfect. There is no extra cost to you whatsoever.
I don't know what I want to include in my ceremony... can you help?
Absolutely! Many people are not sure where to start, so I will speak to you about your options and give you guidance. The possibilities are endless…
Can a celebrant perform legally binding ceremonies?
No, celebrant ceremonies are not legally binding. But in the case of marriages and civil partnerships, many couples now separate the legal process from their celebratory celebrant-led ceremony.
Can I have both a registrar and a celebrant at my wedding?
Yes, providing your venue has a civil ceremony licence and the registrar is willing! Otherwise you can arrange to complete the legalities of your marriage at register office beforehand.
Can we have a rehearsal?
Absolutely YES! In fact, I would highly recommend this. Plus this is included in the cost of my Confetti and Champagne package.
What is a symbolic/unity ritual?
There are lots of rituals that you can include in your ceremony, some more traditional, such as handfasting, commonly known as ‘tying the knot’, to cocktail making ceremonies, or why not create your own?! A celebrant-led ceremony allows complete autonomy to do whatever you want to make your ceremony personal and unique.
I want a member of my family or friend to officiate my ceremony. Is this possible?
Not a problem. My Elopement package is perfect for you if this is for a wedding or vow renewal, however I am happy to write any type of ceremony for you and pass it to someone else to officiate.
What other types of ceremony do you offer?
